Air Quality not Good in Brawley

(Brawley Air Quality reaches high levels of PM 10)….The Imperial County Air Pollution Control District issued an Air Quality Alert for the area. The APCD says the air quality monitor on Main Street in Brawley reached 101 on the Air Quality Index for PM 10 at 2:00 am Wednesday, for a 24-hour period. This represents a condition of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Under these conditions, groups most at risk are people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children, especially when physically active. It is recommended the at risk groups postpone outdoor activities to days when particulate levels are lower. Air Quality in Niland was listed as Moderate, with slightly elevated levels of PM 10 this morning. The rest of the County recorded Good Air Quality.
