(Traffic to move smoother in El Centro)…The City has a plan to make commuting quicker.

A $750,000 bid has been accepted to synchronize various traffic signals. City officials say work should begin within the next month or two. Once started, it should take no more than 90 days to complete. The work will be done on La Brucherie, Imperial, Eighth Street and an intersection of Dogwood Road. The purpose is to reduce idling time for vehicles traveling through the City. The funds come from the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Plan, Measure D and traffic impact fees.
