(State to distribute Federal Money)…California is receiving more Highway Transportation Recovery Act funding than any other state. Governor Schwarzenegger says California is receiving $2 billion in Recovery Act funding for 620 highway transportation infrastructure projects statewide. The funds are to help jump start the economy quickly, effectively and responsibly. Imperial County is to receive $303,000 for rehabilitation and reconstruction on Drew Road, $552,000 for reconstruction on Baughman Road, from Forrester Road to Highway 78/86. $157,000 will be used to construct a new left turn lane on Worthington Road, at the intersection with McConnell Road. $150,000 is for landscaping at the Brawley Cattle Call Park. $302,000 is for pavement rehabilitation on Adams Avenue, from Imperial Avenue to La Brucherie. $50,000 will be used for landscaping on Highway 115 and the Fourth Street Gateway. And $247,000 is for street rehabilitation on the north side of Ninth Street, between Cedar Avenue and Holt. |
