Calipat man dies from injuries suffered on the job

(25 year old killed in Industrial Accident)…Deputy Coroner Tommy Garcia says it appears the man was electrocuted. Garcia received the call at just after 4:00 Thursday afternoon. Christian Cardenas, a welder at Superior Cattle in Calipatria, was reportedly connecting two cables at the time of the incident. He was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, where he was pronounced dead. Garcia says an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death. The Deputy Coroner says Cardenas was a resident of Calipatria.
