Border Patrol Agents Seize Heroin

Border Patrol Agents from the El Centro Sector nabbed heroin valued at more than $45,000 Wednesday. The agents were working near Bowker and Anza Roads in rural Calexico on September 2, 2009 at about 3:45 p.m.when they saw an individual cross the international boundry fence. Agents observed the man run back and forth between the fence and Anza Road. As agents approached , the individual ran back into Mexico. A softball-size package was found along the side of the road.It contained approximately 22 ounces of black tar heroin. The narcotics , valued at over $45,000 , were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
