(Imperial County crews assist in Lockheed fire)….County Fire Chief Tony Rouhoutas says the State Office of Emergency Services Engine was sent to Santa Cruz on Friday.

 Holtville, Brawley and the Calipatria State Prison also reportedly sent crews to the fire. The County Chief says the OES engine and its four-man crew were expected to return sometime Monday. The Imperial County firefighters joined over 2,000 firefighters to combat the blaze. At last report, the Lockheed fire was 65% contained. The fire forced the evacuation of over 500 residents in the area. Five people have been injured. The fire has destroyed two out buildings. The fire has burned over 7,000 acres. None of the Imperial County firefighters were injured in the fire.
