Terrazas named Vice-Chair

(Supervisors name new Vice-Chair)….The vacancy was left with the resignation of the District One Supervisors. Victor Carrillo resigned as a County Supervisor to become City Manager in Calexico. At the time of his resignation, Carrillo was next in line to become Chairman of the Board. Tuesday, the remaining four Supervisors named District Two Supervisor Jack Terrazas to serve as Vice-Chair. Chairman of the Board Wally Leimgruber said the appointment would be for the rest of the year, until the Board reorganizes in January. The Board also re-distributed committee assignments to ensure all of Carrillo’s former commitments would be met. County Executive Officer Ralph Cordova told the Board he had no idea when the Governor planned to fill the vacant District One seat, but he expected the appointment to be soon.
