(County will oppose Horn move)…Richard Horn has bought a home near Brawley. He wants to move away from the Dixieline area near Seeley. Horn was classified a violent sexual predator when he was released from a state hospital in 2007. The Fresno Superior Court located him in Imperial County on his release, because Imperial County was his last listed address. The relocation was not without controversy, taking two tries to find him a place to live in Dixieline. Horn has purchased a home on Weaver Road, near Austin Road, and he will be asking the Fresno Court for permission to move at a hearing July 10. District Attorney Gilbert Otero told the Board of Supervisors Tuesday that Assistant D.A. Joe Beard would be at the hearing arguing against the request. Otero said a recent Town Hall meeting in Brawley to discuss Horn’s request resulted in several people attending and opposing the move. Beard said several comments opposing the request have been received. Beard said, however, Horn will have to be allowed to move somewhere. The attorney said Horn and his current landlord are not getting along, and the landlord wants him out. |
