A Ton Of Pot Hidden In Truck

Border Patrol Agents at the Highway 86 Checkpoint in Imperial County seized over 2,200 pounds of marijuana hidden in a semi-tractor trailer rig. On Sunday , July 5, at approximatly 11:00 p.m. , a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to possible contraband in the big rig. During a search of the trailer , agents discovered a hiddden compartment. Nearly 500 bundles of marijuana , weighing over 2,200 pounds , were found in the compatment. The marijuna is valued at over $1,800,000. The driver , the marijuana and the big rig , were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation and prosecution.
