11 Drunk Driving arrests over holiday

(No Fatalities on Imperial County Roadways)….The California Highway Patrol says the Holiday weekend was rather calm. During holidays, the CHP goes into a Maximum Enforcement Period. For the Fourth of July weekend, the special enforcement period began at 6:00 pm Friday and ended at mid-night Monday morning. Officer Pablo Torres says during that period there were 11 Drunk Driving arrests on all County roadways, in both the El Centro and Winterhaven Sectors. Torres says there was no fatal injury accidents were reported over the holiday. Statewide there were 12 fatal injury accidents and 1,033 drunk driving arrests. The fatal injury number is not changed from last year. DUI arrests however are up from the 971-reported last Fourth of July weekend.
