Maldonado files papers for 2010 election

(Maldonado says he wants to try again)….Rudy Maldonado has already served two terms on the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors. Wednesday he filed papers to run again in Division one. The seat is currently held by Mike Abatti. Maldonado says he been approached by residents across the Valley to seek another term to finish what he started when he was on the Board. He said the inquiries began last year. Maldonado said he spoke with his wife and they both decided to file the necessary papers. IID Division one will be on the June 2010 ballot. Maldonado said he was instrumental in the development of the Stone and Webster Efficiency Report, and he wants to follow up on its implementation. He said he was also concerned with the SAP audits and checks and balances were also on his agenda. No other candidate has announced for the election that is still a year away.
