1936 - A political candidate from Los Angeles was scheduled to speak on KXO.  KXO station Management was warned not to permit it.  When the speaker arrived at the KXO studio, two armed men attempted to get at the breaker box at the back door.  Earl Irey refused to let them pass, so they shot out the breaker box.  The Mob broke down the front door and escorted the political candidate to the train depot.
