The Chargers took another step toward solidifying their depth along the offensive line as they agreed to terms with veteran center Cory Withrow on a new three-year contract Tuesday afternoon.“Cory is a solid, experienced veteran who provides reliable depth for us along the offensive line,” General Manager A.J. Smith said. “Cory fills a valuable role for us. It’s good to have him back.” Withrow saw action in 11 games in 2006, mostly on special teams. He also filled in five games and was a part of two scoring drives despite seeing limited action in each appearance. A veteran of seven NFL seasons, Withrow joined the Chargers on August 9, 2006. He spent the first six years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings where he logged 13 starts and played in 80 games. With his new deal, Withrow becomes the 27th Charger whose contract with the team lasts through the 2009 season.
