Round 1 (30th overall) - Craig Davis - Wide Receiver - LSU Round 2 (37th overall) - Eric Weddle - Safety - Utah pick acquired from Chicago chargers trade picks No. 62, No. 93, No. 167 and a third-round pick in the 2008 draft to move up to selection 37. Round 4 (129th overall) - Scott Chandler - Tight End - Iowa Round 5 (172nd overall) Compensatory Selection - Legedu Naanee - Wide Receiver - Boise State #30 Craig Davis - Wide Receiver LSU (6'1 Davis is considered a very talented receiver prospect, but most experts considered him a reach at pick #30 for the San Diego Chargers. It was anticipated he would fall to the 3rd round. He has good size, is an excellent athlete, and has very good speed. He is built very well, and can take a hit and hold on to the football. Davis also became a very good punt returner as a senior at LSU. #37 Eric Weddle Safety Utah (5'11", 203, 4.48); Weddle is considered a very talented defensive backfield prospect, most experts considered him a true value at pick #37. Hes been a standout corner and strong safety during his collegiate career. Weddle is well-rounded multi-tooled athlete. Solid physical tools, with supreme intelligence and toughness will make it a pleasure to watch him play for the Chargers next year. #96 Anthony Waters - ILB - Clemson (6'3 245 Clemson 4.62); Waters has all the talent to be a standout middle linebacker in the NFL. He has ideal size and strength and is a force against the run. He is quick to read the play, and aggressively fills a hole. He has the strength to take on a blocker, get off and bring down the ball carrier. He has lateral agility to run plays down sideline to sideline. Waters also shows the instincts in coverage, and ability to pick up the football while it is in the air. The major question mark on Walters is the health of his knees. Good value pick. #129(4) - Scott Chandler - Tight End - Iowa (6'7", 270, 4.78); Chandler is a huge pass target. He has excellent size, and creates match up problems for the defense. He has the ability to go up and get the football. Chandler knows how to get open, and has some run after the catch skills. At this point, Chandler is a very good receiver, but is lacking in the blocking techniques and skills. He is a very good value for the San Diego Chargers at this point in the draft. #172(5) - Legedu Naanee - Wide Receiver - Boise State (6'2 Boise State WR Legedu Naanee measured a height of 6-2 1/8 and a weight of 226 pounds at his Pro Day March 5. He ran the short shuttle in 4.20 seconds, the three-cone drill in 6.73 seconds and measured a 9-foot-10 broad jump. Naanee possesses an excellent blend of size, strong hands and speed for the NFL. He could prove to be the sleeper of the 2007 NFL Draft. Excellent selection for the San Diego Chargers late in Round 5. #240(7) - Brandon Siler - Inside Linebacker - Florida (6'1 Siler earned third team All-American (AP) and second team All-SEC honors, he is an effective interior run stuffer who plays with a mean streak and never stops working. He is a great late 7th round value. Check out all the draft predictions on KXO Radio's NFL Mock Draft 2007: http://kxoradio.com/national-sports/2007-nfl-mock-draft-7-rounds.html
