Responders Battle Pine Valley & Corte Madre Ranch Fire PDF Print E-mail

The U.S. Forest Service is currently working to extinguish a 300-acre vegetation fire near the community of Pine Valley at the Corte Madera Ranch. The fire is on the south side of Interstate 8 and burning to the east. No structures are currently threatened. The fire started at 1:15 p.m.

Currently 45 Engines, 3 Bulldozers, 8 Fire Crews, 3 Helicopters, 6 Air tankers, 4 Water Tenders, have responded which is about 350 firefighters.

The Incident Command Post is at Old Highway 80 and Pine Valley Road at Pine Valley County Park. California Highway Patrol has closed Interstate 8 between Highway 79 and Sunrise Highway. The American Red Cross is on the scene in support

The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
