Marijuana found in secret compartment

(Border Patrol agents seize 76 pounds of marijuana)…The seizure was the result of an inspection at the Campo checkpoint.

 A pick-up driven by a 41 year old male Mexican National recently entered the checkpoint on Interstate 8. The agents had become suspicious because of the drivers nervous demeanor. A K-9 inspecting the vehicle alerted to an area near the gas tank. The agents used non-intrusive inspection technology and detected anomalies inside the gas tank. Agents noticed the undercarriage of the pick-up had been tampered with. The gas tank was removed, and the agents found a non-factory compartment behind it. The marijuana was found in that compartment. The value of the narcotic was set at $46,000. The suspect and the marijuana were turned over to a Multi-agency drug task force. The Border Patrol seized the GMC Sierra Pick-up.
