A Special Meeting of the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors will be held Wednesday.

The noon meeting will be held to declare a local emergency associated with a Friday , June 5 , 2020 windstorm in the Coachella Valley. According to the IID , a powerful windstorm damaged 53 transmission poles associated with the district's K transmission line as well as various distribution poles and lines near the intersection of 68th and Grant Avenues in Mecca. The district is looking for reimbursement from the State of California ,  Office of Emergency Services to cover the cost of repairs.
