(Woman arrested)…Over 100 pounds of Meth seized.

It happened at the Border Patrol Immigration Checkpoint on Interstate 8 between Campo and Pine Valley. The woman was driving a 1999 pickup Saturday morning. Agents questioned the woman, and then sent her to the secondary inspection area for further questioning. Once in the secondary area, a K-9 Detection Team alerted to the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 74 plastic bags of crystal methamphetamine, hidden in a duffel bag and in a trash can, both I the bed of the pickup. The packages weighed over 103 pounds, with a value of $232,875. The 36 year old woman, a US citizen, and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation. The pickup was seized by the Border Patrol.
