(A busy four days for Law Enforcement)….Especially the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP is expected to go into their Maximum Enforcement Mode at 6:00 Wednesday evening. They will stay in the Holiday mode until 11:59 Sunday night. That is for the public Highways. The CHP also covers traffic in the off-road areas. Officials estimate the population of Imperial County will double this Thanksgiving Day weekend. It is estimated there will be close to 250,000 visitors in the off-road areas this weekend. Thanksgiving and New Years are the two largest off-road Holiday Periods of the year in Imperial County. The Highway Patrol is reminding off-road drivers that they should not drink and drive, and they need to buckle-up even while drive off-road.
