Boil Water Order Remains In Effect

The City of Brawley remains under the Water Boil Advisory Order that was issued yesterday.

The City of Brawley , in consultation with the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water , issued the order after a 24-inch water distribution pipeline was ruptured by a contractor early Wednesday night.  The break resulted in a twenty to thirty minute service interruption for Brawley residents. Because the water pressure dropped below the required standard for drinking water the Boil Water Order Notice was issued. The results for the first 24 hour period of bacteriological sampling are in for nine locations in the city and they came up negative. The results for a second 24 hour period are expected Friday afternoon. If the second sampling also has negative results the Boil Water Advisory Order will be lifted.
