(Santa Ana Winds)….High Wind Warning in effect in the East San Diego County Mountains.

The strong winds have been gusting between 40 and 106 miles per hours. Schools in the Mountains were closed Wednesday morning. The strong winds blew over two big rigs on Interstate 8. One near Highway 79 in the Japatul Valley. The other rig was blown over in the eastbound lanes of I-8 near Buckman Springs Road. Wind gusts have been reported at 75 mph in North Descanso, 676 mph in Pine Valley, 68 mph at Sunrise Highway. The strongest winds were recorded at 106 mph at Sill Hill, a high remote spot in the Cuyamaca Mountains. Winds are expected to calm down this evening, with a wind advisory in effect overnight, into Thursday afternoon.
