(Prescription Drug Take Back Day)….It is this Saturday.
It is the 10th annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day created by the Drug Enforcement Administration. On the designated day, the DEA and its law enforcement and community partners give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. On Saturday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm the DEA and its partners will hold the 10th annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day with 42 sites in San Diego County and 3 Sites in Imperial County. The Imperial County sites are at the Food 4 Less in Calexico and at the Von’s Stores in El Centro and Brawley. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked. Last year’s Nationwide Take Back Day resulted in the collection of over 2,400 tons of drugs.
