(County Counsel is going to retire)….It was announced Thursday morning.
Michael Rood was hired as County Counsel on April 3, 2008. He came to the County after serving as legal counsel in other areas in the Valley. Rood recently treated for appendicitis. He says the time off gave him time to reflect. He said, while he enjoyed his tenure with the County, especially the challenge of the Quantification Settlement Agreement and its related issues, there are still many things he would like to do in life. He said retirement will give him the time to do them. Board of Supervisors Chairman Ryan Kelley said Rood had done a fantastic job as County Counsel. Kelley said the Board thanked him for his dedicated service and they hope he enjoys a long and fulfilling retirement. Rood’s effective day of retirement is September 18th.
