(August is National Child Support Awareness Month)…Imperial County Department of Child Support Services will be busy during the month.
The Department says they recognize the critical role child support plays in the lives of children. To show its appreciation for families and focus on the importance of providing financial support for children, the local Department will be conducting various outreach activities in their offices during August. There will be the License Release program That allows parents a limited time opportunity to reinstate driver’s licenses that have been suspended for non-payment of back child support. Child Support on Wheels, in which staff travels to various locations in the Valley. Every Monday in August they will be at the Valley Plaza Courthouse, as well as on Tuesday August 18th. On August 11th, 13th, 18th and 20th they will be at the Lion’s center meeting room in Brawley. On August 5th and 26th staff will be at the Mexican Consulate in Calexico. And on August 11th they will be at Imperial Valley College. More information is available at the Child Support Services office in El Centro
