A 10-year old girl died Saturday after she was ejected from the SUV she was a riding in. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jose Salazar , a 1998 Ford Expedition was travelling southbound on Highway 86 near Sunrise Avenue in the Salton City area when the driver , 18-year old Bryan Franco Iniguez of Coachella , lost control of the SUV and struck a metal guardrail , crossed over the roadway and overturned several times. A 10-year old girl was ejected from the vehicle and was fatally injured. A 43-year old woman and an 8-year old girl , both from Coachella , sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital. The driver was transported to Pioneers as well and then arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The accident remains under investigation.
