(It was a small fire)…But it was a major lessen.

The fire was reported late Tuesday morning. Yuma Fire crews arrived at the scene on West Leslie Lane to find a mattress next to a house on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and the house searched and inspected to ensure the fire had not spread to the structure or the attic of the house. It was all clear. Fire officials say it was determined the fire was started by a child playing with a lighter. They say with school classes dismissed during the COVID 19 pandemic, it is imperative that parents keep an eye on their children and know where they are and what they are doing. With the Stay at Home mandate in effect, children should not be on the street alone.
