(Calexico City Manager and interim Police Chief again City Council hot topics)….The City Council meets tonight.
In closed session, the Council is set to discuss the job performances of the City Manager and Interim Police Chief Michael Bostic. On the regular agenda the council will discuss Bostic’s contract with the City. They will also discuss the possibility of contracting with the County Sheriff’s office to provide policing services for the City, if the Calexico Police Department is dissolved. The Council will discuss limiting the Authority of the City Manager so that spending authority may not exceed $5,000 without City Council action. Council member Maritza Hurtado will lead a discussion on policies and procedures for calling Special Meetings. The City Council meeting begins at 6:30 tonight. The meeting is being held at the St. Joseph Hall at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy, 535 Rockwood Avenue. Entrance is on the Southwest corner of Paulin Avenue and Fifth Street in Calexico.
