| Medical officials are saying that a home monitoring system is appropriate for those that have an older parent who is at high risk. A high risk could be a medical problem that may lead to an accident or emergency care. People with high risk older parents suffering from mental or cognitive problems can choose among three different systems. Some home monitoring systems have cameras, while others use sensors to monitor movement in the home. For parents that shy away from being monitored, officials say a phone call three times a day, a neighbor dropping in once a day or other collaborative forms of communication may be more appropriate. |
