KXO AM1230 will broadcast the 1st round C.I.F. San Diego Section Division V football play-off game between the Imperial Tigers and the Tri-City Christian Eagles on Friday November 17. The Desert League champion Tigers finished the season with a record of 8 and 2 losing only to Palo Verde, a Division IV play off contender, and dropping a 22 to 21 game against Holtville that went into overtime.
Tri-City Christian finished the year with a 3 and 7 record. Their last game of the season was a 34 - 20 loss to the Calipatria Hornets. This Friday will be a busy night with the Brawley Wildcats hosting San Diego’s Southwest High School Raiders at Warne Field in a Division III first round game. John Bishops Wildcats are 7 and 2 on the year and have the number 6 seed in the play-offs. In another Division V match up Calipatria will travel to Calexico to take on the Vincent Memorial Scots. The Hornets are 6 and 4 on the year as are the Scots. The Holtville Vikings also got a home game for the first round of Division V action. The Vikes will host H-Town Christian Academy Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in the Carrot City. The Imperial Valley Leagues Palo Verde Yellow Jackets have a bye in the first round of the Division IV series and the Central Spartans have the week off to prepare for the winner of the Steele Canyon Cougars and University City Centurions match-up in Division III. KXO will broadcast the Spartans second round game on Friday November 24, 2006. Jon Driffill, Matt Juleson and Carroll Buckley will call the game for the El Centro station.  |
