 Brawley, California - Central beats Brawley 14-7.Central Union High School outrushed Brawley 159 yards to 113 and outgained the Wildcats 197 total yards to 128. Brawley only gained 31 rushing yards in the second half as Central scored the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Sophmore Ricky Smith ran for 72 yards and a touchdown on Central"s second play from scrimmage. Brawley answered with a 9 play, 30 yard drive to tie the score and the ensuing PAT gave Brawley a 7-6 lead until the 3:30 mark of the fourth quarter. Benny Carter scored a 6 yard touchdown after a 74 yard, 7 play drive. Carl Chick was 2 for 7 passing for 38 yards. Ricky Smith had 5 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown. Brock Moore gained 29 yards on 9 rushes. Benny Carter ran for 47 yards and the winning touchdown on 12 sttempts. Jouqueen Coleman had 2 rushes for 10 yards and Joe Sigmorotti ran for 13 yardes on one carry. Steven Singh had one recption for 10 yards and Felipe Beltran had another for 28 yards. Central will await today's meeting to determine who they will face in the play-offs and when the game will be played. |
