Zamora pre-trial set for March 19

(Pre-trial for fraud suspect this month)….Officials say 42-year-old Maribel Zamora is accused of embezzling from elderly patients at the now closed Regan Community Care Home in Brawley. Zamora was arrested in El Centro on May 21 after a traffic stop. During the stop officers discovered a warrant had been issued for her arrested by Brawley investigators. She is facing six felony counts and 27 misdemeanor counts of embezzlement. Zamora allegedly stole and embezzled property from elderly residents at the Regan facility between 2001 and 2003. Her pre-trial hearing has been set for March 19. A preliminary hearing will be held April 9.
