(Good news, bad news on water usage)…In his report to the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors Tuesday, Water Department Manager Mike King says the anticipated overrun is decreasing.

King said, as of Tuesday, the anticipated overrun was at 102,000 acre-feet of water. He said that was down from 104,000 acre feet anticipated last Friday. King said his Department was working on reducing the overrun every day. He told the Board storage of Colorado River water in the Lakes upstream was at 59% of normal. He said that is better than it had been, but the bad news is that there does not appear to be very much more runoff. King said the snowmelt has stopped. He said there does not appear to be any more snow in the Colorado Mountains.
