Veterans Clinic To Celebrate Opening PDF Print E-mail

The Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System will host ceremonies to celebrate the opening of the new Imperial Valley Clinic.

The ceremony will be held Friday June 13, 2008 at 2:30 in the afternoon. at the Southwest Performing Arts Theater on the campus of Southwest High School in El Centro. Congressman Bob Filner will be the guest speaker. Congressman Finer represents the Imperial Valley and is chair of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.

The new clinic is located at 1600 S. Imperial Avenue in El Centro, near El Centro Regional Medical Center. The 2,663 square foot clinic has two exam rooms, a teleconference room for remote mental health counseling as well as a reception and waiting room area. The clinic will be managed by Stirling Medical. Stirling currently manages 20 Veterans Affairs clinics throughout the United States. There will be a full-time physician, registered nurse /  care coordinator, licensed vocational nurse , administrative staff support and a part-time phlebotomist. Routine lab service will be available. The current Veterans Affairs clinic serves 900 veterans. There are an estimated 7,000 veterans in Imperial County.
