Valley Stirke Team in Merced

A Strike Team made up of Imperial Valley, California and Yuma, Arizona firefighters is in the Merced, California area. The bi-state team arrived at the staging area in Merced at about 5:00 Tuesday morning. The local firefighters are from the Calexico Fire Department, Imperial County Fire, Brawley Fire and Holtville Fire along with an engine and crew from the Yuma Fire Deaprtment. Ater travelling all night the crews were able to rest yesterday. They have been assigned to the Oliver Fire, one of several hundred fires burning in Northern California.
