(An Arizona couple is killed in a traffic accident)…The incident occurred on Interstate 8, near In-Ko-Pah Road at around 2:30 Thursday afternoon.

The couple, identified as 55-year-old Sharon Jaroz and her 56-year-old husband Edward Jaroz, were driving westbound on the Interstate. An Eastbound vehicle, driven by an unidentified female, went out of control and collided with the westbound vehicle. The Jaroz vehicle caught fire, but the fire was quickly extinguished, and did not contribute to the fatal injuries to the Gilbert, Arizona couple. The unidentified female suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a San Diego area hospital. Two infant passengers in the eastbound vehicle were taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment. Reports are the injuries to the children were not life threatening. An investigation into the collision continues to determine why the eastbound vehicle lost control. Imperial County Deputy Coroner Frazier said autopsies on the Arizona couple are being performed to determine the exact cause of death.
