(43-year-old identified)….The County Coroners office has identified the 43-year-old man found dead in his car Tuesday.

Deputy Coroner Sergeant Charles Lucas says the man was Michael Horner from Arizona. Investigators still have not determined how or why the man crashed into the canal near Highway 115 on Albright Road. The white Toyota was found completely submerged in the canal. Horner was found deceased inside the vehicle. Lucas said the victim’s family had no idea why he would have been traveling near Calipatria. They said Horner was on his way back to Arizona after a trip to San Diego. The Sergeant said the autopsy determined the man died as a result of Multiple Traumatic Injury with severe internal injuries, indicating the vehicle was traveling pretty fast when he went into the canal.
