(It could next week before an unofficial final is ready for June 3 election)…Dolores Provencio, Clerk, Recorder and Registrar of Voters, released the election departments Unprocessed Ballot Report.

She said with the number of ballots left to be counted from the June 3 election, the outcome in several races could change. She would not say which races could change, because the number of ballots from the various voting locations will not be known until the ballots are processed. The report indicates there are 2,936 Vote By Mail Ballots still to be processed. There are 531 Provisional Ballots that need to be verified, and 779 others. The Others are ballots that were damaged, could not be machine read or diverted by optical scanner for further review. Provencio says election workers will remake the damaged ballots so they can be counted. She set a goal of 10 days to finish the processing and release a new unofficial update. A canvassing of the entire process is also underway. Elections has 28 days from the vote to certify the election count.
