(The Big Bad Birthday Bash begins Friday)….The California Midwinter Fair and Fiesta will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary. The Fair runs from Friday through March 9. The first day of the Fair offers something for Leap Year babies. Those born on February 29 will be admitted free all day Friday. All they have to do is show identification with their birth date at the gate and they will be admitted free. There will be a special recognition for all the Leap Year Birthdays at 6:00 pm Friday at the Val Rock Stage. It is part of the special Leap Year celebration. Some of the highlights for this year’s Centennial Fair include; The Tri-Fair Championship Series Extreme Challenge Race on March 1; The Extreme X Action Sports Expo will be held March 2; High School Madness will be held March 3; March 7 will feature the Bowling for Soup concert; The Guess Who will perform March 8; The Fair wraps up with the Traditional Dia De La Familia, sponsored by the Institute for Socio-Economic Justice, and will feature comedian Jose Karlo and the musical groups Los Terricolas and Los Cadetes de Linares.
