Suspected illegals rescued

(Four rescued near Buckman Springs)….The four were found Saturday afternoon in the mountains near Old Highway 80, South of Buckman Springs Road, at the old, now closed, Border Patrol Station. Cal Fire says the four were suffering from exposure. It is suspected the four had entered the United States illegally. A San Diego County Sheriff’s Helicopter was used to transport three of the people to an area hospital. The fourth was able to climb down the mountain on his own. The National Weather Service reported temperatures in the 90’s Saturday afternoon. Cal Fire says the rescue took about two and a half hours. There is no word on the present condition of the four, or if they were eventually deported.
