(Holtville man confesses to stealing diesel fuel)…Authorities say 34-year-old Albert Lopez was arrested Monday. They say he was stopped Friday by a Sheriff’s Deputy. The Deputy reportedly smelled a strong odor of diesel fuel in the back of the 1989 BMW. The vehicle was impounded, but Lopez was not arrested at the time, pending an investigation. Monday, when Lopez went to pick up his impounded vehicle he reportedly confessed to stealing the fuel from Imperial Irrigation District vehicles. He was booked into County Jail for stealing the fuel and for transporting a hazardous material.
