(The votes have been counted, and none of the results change)….Dolores Provincio, Imperial County Clerk, Registrar of Voters, Recorder, says the final count was completed Wednesday. The County Elections Department wrapped up all the left over ballots from the February 5 Presidential Primary elections. The only major change was in voter turnout. The final count indicates 21,001 of the 53,012 registered voters cast a ballot on Super Tuesday. That translates to a 39.62 percent voter turnout, much better than the 20% originally counted. The Mc Cabe Union Elementary Bond Measure “A” did not pass. The measure needed 55% of the vote to be approved. According to the final count, the measure received only 52.54 %. Provincio says her Department is finalizing a manual canvass of the 8 McCabe precincts before the final certification is presented to the County Board of Supervisors. The Supervisors will probably receive the final count at their meeting March 11. The Board will be dark March 4, as the Supervisors will be attending the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference most of next week. |
