Sunday's fatal injury victim identified

(Victim of head-on collision identified)….The County Coroners office says 44-year-old Ernesto Morales suffered fatal injuries last Sunday. The Ford Ranger Morales was driving collided head-on with a Peterbilt on Forrester Road near Evan Hewes Highway. The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine why the small pick-up drifted into the opposite lane, in front of the semi, and continued to drift after the driver of the big rig tried to avoid the collision. While it has been determined Morales had family in Yuma and Mexico, it has not been determined exactly where he resided. The pick-up he was driving had Arizona license plates.
