(The County is looking for a few good Lifeguards)…This week the County Human Resources Director Ron Grassi told the Board of Supervisors that applications were be actively sought.

The Supervisors recently agreed to increase the salary offered the new Lifeguards. The salary is now $12 per hour. Grassi said the new Lifeguards will work primarily at the newly refurbished Sunbeam Lake and Weist Lake near Brawley, mostly during the summer. The Lifeguards will work 10 hours per day, four days a week. Possibly on the weekends. All applicants must be able to take and pass an Open Water Certification Exam. The local Red Cross office in El Centro has agreed to provide and certify the applicants.

Applications can be downloaded on-line at the County website, but they must be taken in person to the County Human Resources Department, no later than 5:00 pm May 22, 2008.
