(County Strike Team comes home)….El Centro Battalion Chief Tim Real said the Team got back Thursday night at 11:00 pm.

Firefighters from five Imperial County Departments spent the good part of the week assisting in the Sesnon fire in Los Angeles County. Team Leader Chris Hall, Calipatria Fire Chief, brought the strike team home after it was determined the fire was 70 % contained. This morning it was announced the Sesnon fire was now 90% contained. The Strike Team consisted of firefighters from the Calipatria, Calexico, El Centro, Holtville and County fire departments. The Team came home tired, but uninjured. The fire has burned 14,125 acres, at a cost of $9.1 million. It destroyed 15 homes and 58 outbuildings. Six other homes were damaged. All evacuations have been lifted, and no more structures are threatened by the fire.
