| Strong winds accompanying thunderstorms downed utility poles in the Winterhaven area this afternoon. The storms stayed mostly in the eastern portion of Imperial County. The National Weather Service had earlier issued a series of weather warnings for severe thunderstorms as well as a flood advisory. The damage is still being evaluated. |
