(Roof collapses at Southgate Mall in Yuma)….Yuma Fire Department says they received the call at 12:15 Sunday afternoon.

When they arrived at the scene on South Fourth Street, they found there was flooding. The businesses on the east side of the Mall were in seven inches of standing water. They say the roof was checked by aerial ladder for signs of visible damage or collapse, but they found none. Fire officials say it appears the water accumulated on the roof from the recent storms in the area, and leaked through. Employees at the Mall cleaned up. During the storm Sunday morning, the Yuma Fire Department responded to a number of reported alarm calls and arcing power lines. Water from the storm was also believed to have caused arcing and a small fire in an electrical box on a home in the 1700 block of 10th Street.
