(Mexicali Junk Yard raided)…Municipal Police in Mexicali says the Los Gordos junkyard was dismantling stolen vehicles from the United States.

The Police arrested the owners of the junkyard. They were identified as Father and son, 54-year-old Arturo Perez Gonzalez and 35-year-old Arturo Perez Valadez. They were taken into custody after parts from stolen vehicles were found in the yard. The suspects reportedly told the police a person, nicknamed Mono, from Calexico provided the stolen vehicles. They said they did not know his name or address. One of the stolen vehicles was apparently from Indio, reported stolen in June of this year. It had been reassembled with parts from other stolen vehicles. Motors and other parts were also traced back to stolen vehicles. Police say they are continuing to investigate to try to determine whom all was involved in the scheme and just how many stolen vehicles were dismantled at the yard.
