(Stirling in final process for solar field)….Stirling Energy plans to build over 300 solar panels near Plaster City. The panels would eventually generate energy to be transported to San Diego. Officials have told the County Board of Supervisors the process is in its final year. Environmental and other permit hearings will be held. Next week Stirling plans on drilling test holes in the Plaster City area. The holes would be for the base of the solar panels. Also next week, Stirling officials will meet with the San Diego Off-Road Coalition in Santee. The meeting is to coordinate Stirling’s construction efforts so as not to infringe on tracks and trails used by the Off-Road Coalition. County officials plan to attend the November 3 meeting, as well. |
