Special efforts recognized in DUI Campaign

(Avoid the 10 Coalition recognizes officers)….The Calexico Police Department hosted the luncheon Thursday. The Border City Department obtained the State and Federal grants that is paying for the Coalition. The event was moderated by Calexico Police Chief Jim Neujahr. The Keynote speaker was Patricia Hodgkin, Executive Director of MADD in San Diego. Fourteen local officers were recognized for their efforts in the campaign against Drunk and Impaired drivers. Those recognized included: Officers Hector Paramo and Jeffery Nguyen of the Brawley Police Department; Officer Victor Flores with the Calexico Department; Officers Gilbert Caldera, Kevin Biagi, Carlos Alcantar, Jose Serrano and Randy Sanchez with the California Highway Patrol; Sergeant Lynne Mara with the Calipatria Police Department; Officer Daud Chang with the El Centro Department; Officer Hilda Espinoza with the Imperial Police Department; and Officers Elizabeth Acuna, Silverio Espinoza and Armando Padilla with County Probation.
