The Bureau of Land Management will hold three public scoping meetings to seek public input on the Solar Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement ( PEIS ) . The meetings will be held in cooperation with the U. S. Department of Energy in Barstow June 16, 2008, Riverside June 17, 2008 and Sacramento June 19, 2008. The purpose of the PEIS is to analyze the potential impacts of solar energy development in the states of California, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Similar meetings will be held in Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Salt Lake City. More information is available at http://solareis.anl.gov/ .
